Tokyo, Japan

Hello everyone! The time has finally come for me to share my photos from my recent trip to Japan. I got home four days ago and was heart broken to leave Tokyo. Partly because I had a statistics exam the day after arriving home but mostly because of how beautiful and magnificent the country is.

I have been to Japan once before several years ago and am thrilled that I got the opportunity to go back. I met up with my family, who had already been there for two weeks, in Tokyo. My stepdad’s family is from Japan and many of them live in Tokyo. We are lucky enough to be able to stay in his uncle’s apartment when we are in Japan. The apartment is located in Shinjuku, one of my favourite areas of Tokyo. I find staying in an apartment and being a part of a local neighbourhood to be such an incredible way to get a feel for a city.

Some of the activities we got up to while in Tokyo were celebrating Hanami in Ueno Park, which is a cherry blossom viewing festival, seeing the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at the National Art Centre Tokyo, visiting friends and family, shopping in Harajuku, taking an incense class, going on a ghost tour, and of course eating! 🍙🍡🍵 I basically lived off of mochi, taiyaki, inari, and curry the entire trip. The weather was absolutely beautiful during my stay and I am so grateful to have been there for cherry blossom season.

I fell in madly in love with Tokyo during this trip and am considering living there for while sometime in the future. I am looking forward to having the time to start studying Japanese this summer along with improving my Italian. I hope you enjoy this post and thank you so much for stopping by!

Greetings from Tokyo! I hope you are all doing fantastic! If you follow me on social media then you know that I have been in Japan for the past week sightseeing and visiting friends and family. I am heartbroken that I’m leaving on Friday, especially since the temperature is starting to warm up here! My go to look for this beautiful weather has recently involved off-the-shoulder tops. This blue striped top is fun to wear with these high waisted jeans and I am a huge fan of the sleeves. I’m super excited to share all of my photos from Tokyo, so stay tuned for that post coming soon! xx

Cuba

Traveling to Cuba was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I returned from this ten day trip on Wednesday and wish that I could have stayed longer. Cuba exceeded all of my expectations and I loved getting the chance to experience the culture there. My family and I stayed at a resort but my favourite part of the trip was the tours we did. We hired a tour guide to take us to the Bay of Pigs, Havana, and Mantanzas. In each of these places we were able to walk around the streets and country roads, sampling local cuisine and lots of food I have never had before. If I could only choose one place to go back to, I would definitely choose Havana. It is such a beautiful city and rich with history. I enjoyed exploring Havana’s cobblestone streets and we even happened to see the Rolling Stones sitting at one its cafes. On our last day in Cuba we went on a catamaran excursion that took us snorkelling, to a place where we swam with dolphins, and a deserted island for lunch. The weather was gorgeous and it was the perfect way to end the trip. Cuba is one of my favourite places that I have ever traveled and I am already dreaming of going back one day. Let me know in the comments your favourite place you have traveled!
